Fertilizers are typically packaged with their coverage in mind. The fertilizer package will tell you how much square footage it covers.

To determine your lawn size, you will need to do some basic math. Simply multiply the width of your lawn by its height and subtract any hardscapes that won’t be fertilized. Once you have that number, you should know exactly how many bags of fertilizer you need.
